Civic Review's certificate templates are an awesome way to autogenerate certificates and letters based on the application details.
When printing off these autogenerated certificates, staff and applicants have reported two issues; both of which can be resolved in the print preview box.
Missing Borders and Background Graphics:
It can be a bit confusing to have created an awesome certificate and then to have design aspects missing when you print it off. Perhaps this is what you've designed:
But this is what is showing when you go to print:
How do you get all of the design graphics to show up?
Extra Header and Footer Information:
Also frustrating is when you've crafted a sleek uncluttered certificate; and then when you print it you find additional header and footer information that you didn't want included:
So, how do you resolve these issues? The answer, luckily, is super simple.
Solution:
First off, navigate to a license or permit and click the "view/print certificate" button.
Once there, the print preview box will automatically pop up. To check the background graphic and header/footer settings, you'll want to hit the "More Settings" button.
Scroll about halfway down these settings and you'll locate the two checkboxes responsible for these settings.
Typically, you'll want the:
Headers and Footers | UNCHECKED |
Background Graphics | CHECKED |
This will ensure that all of your design assets (boxes, borders, etc..) show up when you print; and all unnecessary information doesn't show in the header and footer.
GREAT NEWS!!
You typically only have to set up these settings once. After you've configured those print settings within your browser, they should stay that way. However, occasionally after a browser update you may have to go in and change them back from the default to the option above.
