Deleting an inspection is straightforward, but there's a key rule to remember: you can only delete the next upcoming inspection on a permit record. So, if you scheduled two upcoming inspections on the same project, you'd only have access to delete the closest inspection. This guide will show you how to delete an inspection and what to do if the delete button isn't visible.

Deleting the Most Recent Inspection

Follow these steps when the inspection you want to delete is the most recent one scheduled.

  1. Click on the inspection you wish to remove from the inspection list.

  2. In the top-right corner of the inspection page, click the Edit button.

  3. A pop-up window will appear. Follow the instructions by typing the word "Delete" into the box and then clicking the red button to confirm.

Deleting an Older Inspection

If the inspection you need to delete is not the most recent one, you must temporarily change its date to make it the most recent one.

  1. Click on the inspection you want to delete.

  2. Click the Edit button in the top-right corner.

  3. Change the date to a future date, making it the newest inspection on the record. For example, if the current most recent inspection is for today, you would change the date of the inspection you want to delete to tomorrow.

  4. Save your changes.

  5. Now, the inspection you want to delete is the most recent one. Follow the steps in the section above to complete the deletion.
