Default Users:

In Civic Review there are currently 3 default user categories: Viewer, Reviewer, and Admin. You may be curious about what each user's dashboard and Civic Review portal looks like. This article will dive into the Viewer role.

Goal & Workflow:

Civic Review's goal for Viewers is to provide simple access to sign into Civic Review and search to find and view the basic permit details and pull any needed reports. They are not part of the core approval process and do not receive notifications about applications needing review.

Viewers sit outside of the review workflow. They do not receive any notifications and are not able to complete reviews, or input fee information. Viewers can see the workflow progress bar, but don't have access to see who approved each review.

Navigation and Menu:

Viewers do not have access to create or edit applications, forms, fees, valuations, or certificates. Within the NEW, ACTIVE, INACTIVE/DENIED, ALL, and RENEWING bins or sections, Viewers will see all the same applications as Admins. They can also use the search bar at the top to locate a specific application or permit.

Reports:

Users with Viewer status can create personalized lists and views in the ALL Permit section. Viewers DO have access to the Transaction Report area and can download reports in the Reports tab that have been created and shared by an Admin user.

Permit Screen & Walkthrough:

Within individual permits, Viewers have access to view and record inspections, view fees, terms, and permit details, and download the permit details. However, they do NOT have access to complete reviews, edit permit details or fees, or view any messages or internal comments.
