This is a product update announcement for May 27, 2021

We've been talking about inspections, and now it's finally here! We've been working hard on this and we're pretty proud of the capabilities so far.

About the Inspection Module

The inspection module is an add-on module that allows your inspectors to track inspections and items across a project. When inspections are done, you can then send a report to the applicant (or whoever you want).

A video is worth a thousand words, so here's a 10-minute clip showing how it works:

How Do I Sign Up?

The inspection module is a whole separate tech stack, so it requires it's own separate add-on pricing, this all depends on how many inspectors you have. Reach out if you're interested and we'll talk about pricing and how to get set up.

Future Plans

We decided to launch now with the bare minimum tool that is useful for you. But we have a lot of plans for making this even better.

One of the main features asked for is the ability to request inspections online. This will be the next major update we'll make to the inspection module. In the end, however, we hope to update Civic Review as well so that builders or developers can view ALL their permits in a list through their portal, which should make it a little easier for them to request inspections online. We also want to create a way for you guys to specify which inspections will be needed, so they know which one to request next.

The inspection app also has some features that the permitting portion does not have, such as the ability to store multiple contacts, or storing location data. We're planning on adding these kinds of features to Civic Review as well so that everything will be even more tightly integrated.

As you start using it, please share your thoughts and feedback so we can make it even
