Overview

A leap year introduces an extra day (February 29th), requiring a one-day adjustment to all late fees that are calculated by day count and fall after February. This simple process ensures your license late fee schedule remains accurate.

Step 1: Locate the License

  1. Click on the specific license that requires late fee adjustments.

  2. Navigate to the form settings for that license.

Step 2: Access the Late Fee Settings

  1. Click on the Fees section.

  2. Within the Fees section, click on Renewal Late Fees.

Step 3: Adjust the Day Count

In the Renewal Late Fees section, you will see a list of fees calculated based on the number of days after the renewal date.

  • Any fee with a due date falling on or after March 1st must have its associated day count increased by one (1) day.

Example:

  • A late fee previously set for 60 days after January 1st (March 1st) must be changed to 61 days. This accounts for the extra day in February.

Step 4: Save Changes

  1. Click on the appropriate fee to edit the number of days.

  2. Edit the number as described above.

  3. Save your changes.

  4. Repeat this adjustment for every fee that falls after February 28th.

Important Note

The adjusted day count is only necessary for the current leap year. You will need to revert these day counts to their original values (subtract one day) for the next non-leap year.
