One cool thing about Civic Review is that it can calculate all your fees. No work on your part. Pretty great right? The only caveat is that you have to teach Civic Review how to calculate them first. In this article, I will show you how to set up fees in your form.
Watch this video, or read the steps below:
Access the Fee Area:
The first thing you need to do is access the fee section. That will be found in the top right corner of the form settings page.
Once you've found the fees section, you can begin to set up your fees.
Step 1
Click "Add Fee Classification"
You have a couple of options here. We recommend just creating one general classification and then placing conditions on your fees. The other option is to create more than one classification of fees and have the applicants select which classification best fits their situation.
Step 2
You should see a section that looks like this. This is where you will add your fees.
Initial Fees: Fees that are paid as soon as the applicant submits their application. No reviews are required before they pay.
New Application Fees: These fees will be paid either after the pre-review or after the final review.
Application Late Fees: These are where you will create any late fees that may apply.
Renewal Fees: If your form is renewable, this is where you will add your renewal fees. Make sure you add these in addition to the new application fees.
Renewal Late Fees: These will be your late fees that are applied to renewals.
Step 3
Click on one of the fee types, and click the "Add a Fee" button. You can either add a simple fee, or an advanced formula. If your fee is a basic fee ($50), and you don't have to do any math to figure it out, a simple fee is your friend. If you need to do some math to calculate it ($40 x Number of Employees), you will need to create an advanced formula.
Here you can also add conditions on the fees if they only apply to certain situations. To learn more about conditions, check this out: Conditions
That is a basic explanation of how to create fees! Feel free to reach out if you have more questions.
